Project Outreach for November

posted Nov 1, 2019, 3:21 PM by North Kingstown United Methodist Church   [ updated Nov 1, 2019, 3:22 PM ]

Project Outreach is the largest food pantry in Rhode Island. It serves over 500 households/families monthly. It also provides the community “store” where people in the Providence neighborhoods can purchase clothing, shoes, boots and household items for a low/ to free price.

We, at the NKUMC have been supporting Project Outreach for many years and in many ways. Our congregation has donated new/ and gently used clothing, shoes. We’ve donated winter clothing, toys through the Giving Tree at Christmas, and the UMW has supported the program by sending $400 over the past several years.

This November, we are asking you to support this mission by donating the following items:
  • Gently used / or new shoes, sneakers and boots.
  • Winter hats, gloves and scarves
If you knit or crochet, handmade hats and scarves are welcome and will be shared with those who attend
Community Dinners.

Collection box will be set up in the Narthex.

Thank you all in advance!

After a long hiatus, we're putting the choir back together under the direction of our music director, Tess Dermanuelian.  You don't have to be an accomplished singer - enthusiasm counts for a lot!

See Tess following Sunday worship to learn more.

An Opportunity to Serve

posted Jul 18, 2019, 5:20 PM by Peter Pellegrino   [ updated Aug 11, 2019, 12:25 PM by North Kingstown United Methodist Church ]

Volunteers are the "engine" that make possible many of the activities in the life of our church.  We have two opportunities to serve in need of your time and talent:

Staff-Parish Relations Committee is in need of at least two new members.

Choir Members: The choir is reforming after the summer break.  There's an information meeting after the 10am service on Sunday, 8 September.

Prayerfully consider if you are being called into service in your church, and let Pastor Sharon know if you are interested.
